Abstract

The author recounts the events and his feelings on his visit to Fiji from Australia following the demise of his father. He describes the rituals conducted for his deceased father, and also his sense of alienation from his adopted homeland of Fiji where the Indians are forced to be tolerant and humble as they are a race without a home after the coup.
