Abstract

The origin and prevalence of Fijians' confrontationist attitude towards Fiji Indians, which leads to recurring political crises in the country, is discussed. It is suggested that the lack of maturity in the Fijian nation-state to adopt a socially significant inclusion of the Indian diaspora is forcing them to leave the nation.
