Postcolonial differend: Diasporic narratives of Salman Rushdie

Mishra, V.ORCID: 0000-0002-0193-9736 (2003) Postcolonial differend: Diasporic narratives of Salman Rushdie. In: Bloom, H., (ed.) Salman Rushdie. Chelsea House Publishers, Broomall, PA, pp. 63-98.

Best known for the highly controversial Satanic Verses, Salman Rushdie brings to his novels the perspective of a South Asian expatriate caught between the diverse cultures of the East and West. He is able to bring to his work a parodic detachment from the two cultures, as well intimate knowledge of the struggle of a South Asian expatriate.
