Abstract
The structure of local government is analogist to the multi headed hydra beast of Greek mythology. There are over 140 local governments each with CEOs, council members and administrative employees There is a Minister for Local Government, the Department of Local Government, the Local Government Standards Panel, State Administrative Tribunal. The Local Government Act 1995 (WA) is over 400 pages long, there are regulations and local laws governing the operation of local government.
