See, A.M., James, F., Raisis, A.L. and Swindells, K. (2007) Management of acute renal failure in small animal practice (Review). Australian Veterinary Practitioner, 37 (4). pp. 140-157.
Abstract
The following review discusses the physiology of renal function. This information is used to develop an understanding of the pathogenesis of acute renal failure and a rational approach to its management during the first few hours to days. Emphasis is placed upon the management of anuria and oliguria. It also discusses the most common causes of acute renal failure, and the use of advanced monitoring techniques available to general practitioners. A brief presentation of future management techniques is also provided.
