Abstract
What is biotechnology? What do science teachers think biotechnology is? Does it matter? This paper argues that a vital task of the science education community is to fully prepare students to be 'technological citizens'. This means it is important to be clear about what is this thing called biotechnology. This article summarises the views of science teachers, and then suggests how science teachers might tackle the important question of what biotechnology is.
