Abstract
In this ULearn11 EDtalk Jan Herrington of Murdoch University talks about the barriers schools have put up for mobile phones and discusses how the devices can be used for authentic learning. Jan believes that rather than be a distraction, the mobile phone can be used as a cognitive tool in learning tasks to solve realistic problems, and encourage reflection on, and collaboration during learning.
