Abstract
Two new species of Caulerpa (Caulerpales, Chlorophyta), C. constricta and C. heterophylla, are described from the coast of Western Australia. Caulerpa constricta is an articulate species with simple or branched cylindrical axes lacking morphologically differentiated ramuli. In general appearance, C. heterophylla most closely resembles Caulerpa flexilis Lamouroux, especially van muelleri (Sonder) Womersley. However, C. heterophylla differs in forming conical protuberances on the stolons and two rather distinct types of unbranched ramuli on the fronds.
