McConney, A., Schalock, M.D. and Ayres, R.R. (1996) An overview of measures used in Western Oregon's teacher work sample methodology. In: 1st National Symposium on Reaching World-class Educational Standards through Standards Based Teaching and Learning, November 1996, Portland, OR.

Abstract

In this presentation the authors give a brief overview of the ways in which the teacher work sample methodology (TWSM) measures and variables are currently used for student teacher evaluation, for teacher education program evaluation and for research on teacher effectiveness. Additionally, the authors list the processes, products, measures and the variables derived from the measures within the TWSM. Finally, a description is given of the current evidence for the “goodness” of TWSM measures and variable, along with plans for enhancing this evidence.
